I'm a teacher and want to tell parents ways to know if their child is using blog sites like xan

I know parents can google their child's name, check the computer's history file, or go to xanga/myspace and type the child's name. Is their another way for them to see if their child is doing this?

Is that your job? What would your job be like if the kids didn't trust you any more because they felt you had betrayed them? Wouldn't it be better if the district or the school offered a seminar on things parents should know about the Internet?

There is software out there that the parents can install that spies on all activity on the PC, and records everything they type. I don't remember what it is called, but I always start at www.download.com.

Why would you want to do that? I understand where you are coming from, but students need their privacy too.

I remember i time when parents were worried about their kids doing drugs or committing felonies, but to answer your question no.

I'm so glad you're concerned about this. Parents are very naive about what their children are doing online. And there are lots of kids on Answers who engage in dangerous behavior including giving out their name, location, and email address. You can find out more about online safety at:

keylogger is a software that can spy any typed key. But is this a better way for mutual confidence?
