What kind of SOFTWARE can I use for a WEBSITE IDEA as big as MYSPACE?

I have an idea for a website that would need massive increments of space and direction.

I keep wondering what kind of software it is used or how I can create this website with.

I have seen and checked around but so far I have not seen names.

Also, WHAT KIND OF SOFTWARE CREATION DOES MYSPACE.COM USE?

In addition, I am very curious about how website pages are created when a new user or member creates pages or upload videos as in youtube.com. Like I said, the more users upload info the the bigger the amount of room and space required.

Where can I learn about the software used for this kinds of websites?

I know, I am non-savy about this website creation but a some good guide would not hurt at all.

And you need a server with that has an Apache for PHP and is linux based to run Perl (or install the Perl language on your Windows/Mac OS). You can write it in anything including notepad, textpad, notepad 2, and wordpad.
